For KABK's Earthcraft Studium Generale, activist Vandana Shiva spoke about soil sovereignty. To go with this, I made a food invervention of farmed landscape together with the collective Radical Roots. It involves much nasturtium, arugula, romaine lettuce, pakchoi, edible soil, roasted various kales, sourdough, fatteh, rice & tapioca crisps, eggplants galette de sarrasin & hummus. Vegetables were harvested at Pluk! and the Rietveld Garden Department. The installation centered multiple sources of grain based sustenance, creating a patchwork field of grains. Eaten from the top layer down, it revealed different elements reminiscent of vegetation, organic matter and soil.
